Video HowTo: Create a custom Explorer bar for Internet Explorer (VB.NET)

Let’s talk about extending Internet Explorer user interface. What visual feature is most frequently used by an average user? I bet it is Favorites, of course after the Address Bar :). Today we will create our own Internet Explorer Bar that will reside on the left (just like standard Favorites) and work in Internet Explorer 6, 7 and 8.

As usually this Video HowTo has little to nothing coding, because I aim to showcase visual things like components, modules, designers, i.e. design-time development and immediately after that – run-time results.

The whole process took me 4 minutes and my custom Explorer Bar is alive:

This sample video was captured in Visual Studio 2008 (VB.NET) with Add-in Express 2010 for Internet Explorer and .net.
