Hello

Help string for SUM function in EXCEL is "Adds all the numbers in a ranges cells."

I would like to display the help string of my function in the Insert Function(in Excel) window.

Where are the documents for reference?


Is the Help property(Help String, Help Context, Help String Context) in the *.ridl file ready for this?

I'm looking for information.

As far as I remember you won't be able to achieve this as Excel doesn't read the function description.

I want is to find a document for reference to add help-string to the My function like the link image.

No information is found in files in Docs folder.

Does the impossibility of Andrei mean you can't add this string?

Exactly. You can't set a description of a custom user-defined function (UDF) in Excel.

Like the link image, The VSTO project can set a description for the UDF in excel.

I confirm that Excel ignores the Help string I provide on a method defined in the type library of my Excel Automation add-in.
