Add-in Express 2010 for Office becomes free for Standard packages
Until now only subscribers of Professional and Premium packages could be sure of their cloudless future with Add-in Express and confident that their Add-in Express based extensions would work consistently with Office 2010, 32- and 64-bit (naturally, the latter is only for .net). “Why so?” you may ask. Because Professional and Premium packages have 1 year of free minor and major upgrades, and, as probably know, full support for Office 2010 is provided in version 2010 of Add-in Express, Beta 1 of which is already available.
Version 2010 becomes free for all packages of Add-in Express for Office
From now on, customers of Standard packages may not worry about their future as well. All those who purchase a Standard package of Add-in Express 2009 for Office (.net and VCL) on April 29, 2010 and later, will also get version 2010 for free, once it is released. The public release is scheduled for June 2010, and you can find all the details in Add-in Express 2010 for Office roadmap.
What to expect in version 2010?
Here is just a very short list – support for the Ribbon 2010 UI, Backstage View, new context menus and four recently ribbonized Office apps including Publisher, InfoPath, Visio and Project. A list for .net developers is, undoubtedly, much longer – complete support for VS 2010, Office 64-bit, MSI based web deployment… to be continued :)
