Add-in Express for Office and Delphi VCL adds support for Office 2019!
Finally, it happened. Today we have published version 9.1 of Add-in Express for Office and Delphi VCL that fully supports all versions of Office 2000 through 2019. A new version of Add-in Express for Office and .net is expected soon.
What’s new in version 9.1
Here are the two most important improvements:
- Support for Microsoft Office 2019 applications
- Support for Delphi 10.2 Tokyo Community Edition
The complete What's New list can be found here.
Speaking of Office 2019, there are no crucial changes either from the developer’s or end-user’s perspective, except that we have lost one of the supported applications. As you probably know, Microsoft removed OneNote from Office 2019, more precisely replaced the desktop version with a UWP one. And because COM add-ins do not work in UWP applications, they do not work in OneNote for Windows 10. Of course, there is nothing that would prevent you from downloading and installing the good old OneNote 2016, which is desktop and naturally supports COM add-ins.

How do I support Office 2019 with my existing projects?
